Back in February, we had yet another brunch date at Ströck (Stroeck) Feierabend Landstrasse in Vienna. We celebrated my sister’s birthday there and actually went for quite a few birthday brunches over the years. While there are many brunch spots in the city to choose from, my neighborhood is still a bit sparse on good options for breakfast and brunch, so I actually love venturing to Stroeck Feierabend quite frequently.
The homey vibe and light-flooded restaurant are as inviting as you would think. All produce used is seasonal and regional and the vegetables come from their own garden, which is why the menu changes seasonally. That can be sad (looking at you brioche french toast with compote, hope to see you again in the fall), but makes you want to be more adventurous when it comes to your order. There are of course the staples like their very own breakfast sandwich with pea-avocado guacamole (pictured below) and their homemade granola, just to name two.

The chickpea shakshuka and homemade ice teas (flavors also change throughout the year) are my sister’s favorites and I won’t stop hoping for real Eggs Benedict with hollandaise sauce instead of the stinky cheese one they offer now (hint!) I love their cappuccino and that it’s one of the last places that still offer soy milk (thank you!), their hearty breakfast sandwich for the hungry ones, and if you like a simpler breakfast, their wide range of bread and rolls to choose from will impress you.
Suffice it to say even without my favorite, I never left Stroeck Feierabend hungry or disappointed! I even treated myself to a burger for a single lunch and their signature crispy potatoes always deliver.
