When it comes to brunch, you know that my sister and I know our way around the city. We are not called the Brunch Queens for nothing. Motto am Fluss Café is our latest obsession that we can’t get enough of for our monthly brunch dates.
The light-flooded area is always busy but not overcrowded, which is nice if you actually want to talk to your brunch date without overhearing your seat neighbors’ entire conversation. The food is always fresh and in season. They even have their own signature bread and homemade Nutella spread that is diving. Their dessert bar is worth a mention too (check out their raspberry tartelette, hint hint!).
Admittedly, I am a coffee snob and not easy to please but I just love their soy latte and usually go for a second one, which I hardly ever do. Stevie is a huge fan of Teapigs tea which they also serve. A true win-win for both of us. The staff is very friendly, efficient and customer-oriented which is nice for a change. Earlier this month, a reservation at a different place failed to get through and only one short call later, they took us in at the very last minute. That’s a first so far! I like the overall vibe, the laid-back music, and the fact that my clothes don’t smell like restaurant afterward which is so common eating out during the winter months. So, what’s not to like?!
Since my birthday is in late May, I like to take advantage of the gorgeous outside area and celebrate my day with a girl’s brunch for several years in a row so far. A tradition worth bringing back, if you ask me!
Motto am Fluss Café Menu
The menu offers something for literally everyone, also different milk options and vegan dishes. My sister and I sure have eaten our way through the menu but we always come back to our faves: We love Ruehrei, Heimathafen, All-Day-Breakfast Sandwich and the Ginger Energy Shot the most!

Update 2022
Even during the pandemic, Motto am Fluss Café is still one of our favorites. We’ve been multiple times in the last two years and it has lost nothing of its atmosphere and charm. Still highly recommend!
