Welcome back to the Monthly Note – What I Loved in November! A new blog category, I introduced to you last month with the October Note, where I will show you favorite products, books, movies/shows, recipes, music, and a fellow content creator I like following and want to introduce to you too in case you’re looking for awesome people to follow. Just a good mix of current favorites you might enjoy as well. Sounds good?
Favorite Music
While I am still on the Midnights train (and don’t see myself getting off soon), lately I loved listening to mellow songs in the background. The most played besides my Off Days mixtape is Blue Joy by Bleu Haze Baby which is also part of the mixtape. Many OG bloggers and blog readers might recognize the lead singer. Jinna Yang traveled the world and blogged on Project Inspo before becoming a photographer, filmmaker, and now singer/songwriter. She really can do it all. Listen for yourself!
Favorite Book
Magic Days really does have the perfect title since it is, in fact, magical! As a longtime follower of astrologer Nadine Jane, I pre-ordered her book months ago and was so excited when it finally landed in my mailbox. It’s an intuitive guide through the year offering insight into the astrology of it all of course, but also recommended actions to take as well as journal prompts and extra pages for birthdays. It’s such a gem and so nice to look at too. In this case, it’s totally appropriate to judge a book by its cover!
Favorite Recipe
Ever since I posted my nearly weekly batch of blueberry buttermilk scones, people have been asking for the perfect recipe. Your wish is my command and this recipe for Blueberry Scones by Wild Wild Whisk is nearly identical to the one I learned to make by heart over the years. It’s whipped up in less than 20 minutes and while those gooey gems are in the oven I can quickly clean up and then just enjoy one or two with my morning coffee. I like to freeze them once they’ve cooled down, so I always have a fresh blueberry scone on hand when the mood strikes.
Favorite Product
Ah, this month’s favorite product also serves as an introduction to my favorite creator below. Nars’ Velvet Matte Lipstick Pencil in Cruella is her go-to choice and I can see why. It’s the perfect deep red for every skin tone and is long-lasting as well. In the past, I loved the very popular Ruby Woo by MAC but it felt super drying on my lips and was very unforgiving in the application. In comparison a lip pencil is hassle-free and once you find your type of red, you’re good!
Favorite Look/Creator
This brings me to my favorite creator of the month and her effortless style and daily looks. You might know her already but if you don’t let me introduce you to digital creator Melissa Male whom I started following on Instagram eons ago. Melissa was a serious inspiration for me in how I wanted my apartment to look. I feel like no one really got that I didn’t want it too cutesy with gold and pink details but more streamlined and fresh with lots of white and black, wood details, plants, and prints here and there.
She is known for her signature red lips and long hair and simple look that’s timeless with a twist. Melissa lives in NYC and her stories remind me so much of my time living there and roaming those streets. Recently, she’s been more in front of the camera, sharing her many travel adventures which I am all here for. I am manifesting a coffee date with her whenever I make it back!
